Control Resonant Manhattan Map & Zones Explained

What is confirmed about Control Resonant's warped Manhattan, handcrafted zone structure, exploration, gravity anomalies and activities.

Last reviewed July 17, 2026

Quick answer

Control Resonant takes place across a warped Manhattan divided into distinct handcrafted zones. These areas contain their own atmosphere, encounters, lore, secrets, quests and optional activities. A complete interactive map and final zone list are not available before launch.

How exploration differs from the first Control

The first game concentrated its shifting spaces inside the Oldest House. Resonant pushes the crisis into the city. Gravity anomalies distort vertical and horizontal movement, while familiar streets and architecture become combat arenas and traversal puzzles.

The setting includes the activity of the Federal Bureau of Control, even after many civilians have evacuated. Players will encounter the Hiss, the Mold and other paranatural threats in the affected city.

What is in each zone?

Remedy has confirmed main-story objectives, World Quests, combat encounters, environmental challenges, hidden discoveries and optional activities. Altered Items are one example of something players may pursue. The design goal is meaningful exploration, not clearing a dense checklist of icons.

Why there is no location-by-location database yet

Names, boundaries, checkpoints and collectible coordinates require the release build or explicit official evidence. Publishing hundreds of empty location pages now would mislead players and weaken the site. The open-world explainer clarifies the structure; this page will become the map hub when verified locations are available.

Detail on Control Resonant can change before release. Verify anything time-sensitive against Remedy's official channels. See our sources & method.
