Control Resonant World Quests & Campaign Structure

Control Resonant divides narrative content into Dylan's Journey and self-contained World Quests, with optional encounters and discoveries across Manhattan.

Last reviewed July 17, 2026

Quick answer

Control Resonant has two primary narrative quest types: Dylan’s Journey, which is the main campaign, and World Quests, which are self-contained narrative stories. Zones also contain combat encounters, environmental challenges, hidden discoveries and other optional activities.

Dylan’s Journey

This is the central story following Dylan Faden through the Manhattan crisis and his search for Jesse. Remedy has not published the full mission list, so chapter names, order and objectives should not be treated as known before launch.

World Quests

World Quests are distinct narrative stories found outside the main campaign path. “Self-contained” suggests each can deliver its own story, but official material does not yet establish how they are accepted, tracked, failed or replayed.

Other activities

Remedy has named combat encounters, environmental challenges, hidden discoveries and the pursuit of Altered Items. These activities are woven into handcrafted zones rather than presented as a demand to clear every map marker.

Walkthrough publishing standard

After verified play data exists, every quest page should include requirements, starting location, exact objectives, step-by-step completion, choices, rewards, known trigger problems and nearby follow-up content. Until then, unconfirmed quest-name pages stay out of the sitemap. See the Manhattan map hub for the world structure.

Official showcase coverage also mentions side quests, boss encounters and puzzles, plus previously unseen areas of the Oldest House. Their individual names and order remain unreleased, so they belong in the future evidence queue rather than the current sitemap.

Detail on Control Resonant can change before release. Verify anything time-sensitive against Remedy's official channels. See our sources & method.

Do I need to play the first Control?

No. Remedy presents Control Resonant as a standalone story and a new entry point centered on Dylan Faden. Playing Control provides more context for Jesse, Dylan, the FBC, and the Oldest House, but it is not required.
